Milton Elting Hebald (May 24, 1917 – January 5, 2015) was renowned for his expertise in crafting figurative bronze sculptures. His legacy graces public spaces across New York City, with twenty-three of his pieces adorning various locations, including the iconic statues of Romeo and Juliet and The Tempest positioned prominently in front of the Delacorte Theatre in Central Park. Among his most significant achievements is the monumental "Zodiac Screen," a sprawling 220-foot (67 m) creation comprising twelve distinct pieces. Initially commissioned by Pan-American Airlines for display at John F. Kennedy International Airport, this masterpiece, once hailed as the world's largest sculpture, is now under the custodianship of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
