This rare find measures 72" long, 31" tall and 23" deep. This exceptional trunk is constructed from single pine board panels. Most often when you find similar large boards, due to wood shrinkage through time, they have splits in the wood. To our surprise all panels are still in original condition, with no splits or cracks. Original hinges are still in perfect working order and in original condition. It has nice cut out bracket feet and rose head nail construction. It have old finish but not original and missing original lock. It dates to the first quarter of 1800's.
